A Passion for Soda

November 6, 2009 · 2 comments

Are you passionate about your business?  Do you truly enjoy what you’re doing, and how you’re helping people?  Check out this video I found via Seth Godin’s blog:

John Nese of Galco’s Soda Pop Stop in Los Angeles, CA loves soda pop, and his passion shows through in this video.  And John focuses on those customers who are looking for a new or different soda pop instead of the masses looking for a Coke or Pepsi.  When you bring a passion to your business, it makes it easier to find customers who will resonate with your mission and truly appreciate what you bring to the transaction.

Otherwise, you could be taking jobs that aren’t right for you and could impact your business negatively.

Watch the video… I guarantee it will make you smile (and crave a cucumber soda pop!).

When I was a kid in the late 70′s and early 80′s, we had a local company in Warren, Michigan called Town Club that bottled all kinds of different pops. You would walk through the warehouse with wooden crates, and pick any combination of flavors you wanted. Ah, those were the days :)

I used to visit my grandparents in Garden City, KS when I was younger, and there was Meyer’s Diner. It was a local ice cream company that had a little diner that offered ice cream and things like grilled cheese and tuna melts. My favorite was the limeaid. It was made with fresh-squeezed limes and carbonated water. What a great treat for a kid – a grilled cheese, potato chips, and a limeaid, followed by ice cream, on a hot Summer day.
