I used to visit my grandparents in Garden City, KS when I was younger, and there was Meyer's Diner. It was a local ice cream company that had a little diner that offered ice cream and things like grilled cheese and tuna melts. My favorite was the limeaid. It was made with fresh-squeezed limes and carbonated water. What a great treat for a kid - a grilled cheese, potato chips, and a limeaid, followed by ice cream, on a hot Summer day.

When I was a kid in the late 70's and early 80's, we had a local company in Warren, Michigan called Town Club that bottled all kinds of different pops. You would walk through the warehouse with wooden crates, and pick any combination of flavors you wanted. Ah, those were the days :)
